Pastor Travis Thrower

Pastor Travis Thrower has served in ministry for more than 25 years and has been the Pastor of Golden Isles Baptist Church since September 2021. He first began attending and serving at the church in 2018 and later served as Associate and Interim Pastor before being called as full-time Pastor.

Pastor Thrower’s primary focus is helping believers grow in their faith and live that faith out in everyday life through both example and the faithful preaching and teaching of God’s Word. He is deeply committed to expository, verse-by-verse preaching and believes in communicating the deep truths of Scripture in a way that is clear, understandable, and practical. His greatest desire is to see the church grow deeper in their faith in a way that transforms how they live, so that others around them are drawn to God as well.

He is a graduate of Trinity Baptist College (now Trinity College) in Jacksonville, Florida, and spent nearly twenty years serving in youth ministry before coming to GIBC.

Pastor Thrower and his wife, Karen, have been married for 27 years and have two children, Kamea and Tadan. He enjoys eating good barbecue, watching Atlanta Braves baseball and is a big Florida Gators fan.
